NIBAF Pakistan has announced a full-day professional training programme focused on State Bank of Pakistan inspection requirements and regulatory compliance in branch banking operations. The training, titled “SBP Inspection Regulatory Compliance in Branch Banking Operations,” is scheduled to take place in Sialkot on September 24, 2026, and is designed for banking professionals responsible for branch operations, compliance, risk management, internal audit and regulatory reporting.
The training will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will provide participants with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of regulatory compliance requirements applicable to branch banking operations. The programme is intended to support banking staff in managing inspection-related requirements, internal controls, operational processes and regulatory obligations. The training investment has been set at PKR 18,000 plus applicable tax per participant, while the last date for nominations is September 23, 2026.
NIBAF Pakistan has targeted a broad group of banking professionals for the programme. The intended participants include branch managers, branch operation managers, compliance officers, internal auditors and branch services officers. The programme is also relevant for professionals working in internal controls and operational risk, as well as employees responsible for cash, vault and security functions within banking branches.
The training is further aimed at professionals handling customer complaints and consumer protection matters, along with staff responsible for reporting, record keeping and regulatory returns. By bringing together professionals working across these functions, the programme is expected to address regulatory compliance from multiple operational perspectives and provide participants with knowledge relevant to their day-to-day responsibilities.
The session will be facilitated by Syed Muhammad Taqi Shah, who brings more than 50 years of experience across banking, insurance, education and corporate sectors. His professional background includes organizational transformation, leadership development and large-scale training programmes. According to NIBAF Pakistan, his experience includes leading bank transformation initiatives, developing training materials and conducting international training programmes.
Syed Muhammad Taqi Shah is also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner and a United States Agency for International Development-certified trainer. His professional experience includes facilitating Quality Circles programmes in Japan, where he developed experience in continuous improvement and teamwork. His background is expected to support the training’s focus on improving professional capabilities and strengthening operational practices within banking organizations.
The programme comes at a time when regulatory compliance remains an important component of branch banking operations. Banks are required to maintain appropriate internal controls, records, reporting processes and operational safeguards while ensuring that branch-level activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements. Professionals working directly in these areas therefore play an important role in maintaining effective banking operations and responding to inspection requirements.
The participation of branch managers and branch operation managers is particularly relevant because these professionals oversee many of the operational activities conducted at individual branches. Compliance officers and internal auditors can also benefit from the programme’s focus on regulatory requirements and inspection-related considerations, while operational risk and internal control teams can use the training to strengthen their understanding of potential compliance issues.
Cash, vault and security incharges are another key target group for the programme, given their responsibilities for handling physical cash and maintaining security procedures at branches. Similarly, customer complaints and consumer protection officers can benefit from a stronger understanding of regulatory expectations associated with customer-facing banking operations.
Staff responsible for regulatory reporting, record keeping and returns are also included in the target audience. Accurate documentation and timely reporting are important components of banking compliance, making these functions directly relevant to regulatory inspection processes.
NIBAF Pakistan has set September 23, 2026, as the deadline for nominations. Professionals and institutions seeking further information or submitting nominations can contact NIBAF Pakistan through its designated registration and marketing channels. Registration queries can be sent to registration@nibaf.gov.pk and marketing@nibaf.org.pk. Participants can also contact the organisation through the listed telephone numbers at 021-35277511 and 051-9269850, while WhatsApp assistance is available at 0303 0652963.
The one-day programme in Sialkot is positioned as a specialised learning opportunity for banking professionals seeking to strengthen their knowledge of SBP inspection and regulatory compliance requirements. With participation open to professionals across branch operations, compliance, audit, risk, security, customer protection and reporting functions, the training is designed to address several areas that contribute to effective and compliant branch banking operations.
