The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan (NIBAF Pakistan) has announced a two-day online workshop titled “The AI Advantage: Smart Tools for Real-World Workplace Challenges,” scheduled for October 20 and 21, 2026. The training programme is designed to help professionals understand and apply artificial intelligence tools to practical workplace tasks, with an emphasis on automation, problem-solving, and developing technology-based solutions. The interactive workshop will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days and is intended for professionals and management leaders working across banking, finance, human resources, operations, audit, compliance, risk management, information technology, digital transformation, marketing, and customer experience.
The programme will focus on the practical use of artificial intelligence in professional environments, where organisations are exploring ways to improve productivity, streamline routine processes, and support decision-making. By presenting the training in a hands-on online format, NIBAF Pakistan aims to give participants opportunities to work with AI tools and examine their potential applications in everyday business activities. The workshop’s stated theme, “Learn AI. Automate Work. Build Solutions,” reflects its emphasis on using technology to address workplace challenges rather than focusing exclusively on theoretical concepts. Participants from different professional functions are expected to explore how AI-assisted approaches can support tasks relevant to their respective roles.
The workshop will be facilitated by Irfan Bakaly, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and technology trainer with more than 20 years of experience in technology education. According to the announcement, Bakaly received Pakistan’s first Microsoft MVP award in the Excel category and has developed a professional profile through corporate training and technical education. He is also known as a YouTuber under the name “Irfan Wazir Ali” and has authored more than 525 technical video tutorials covering advanced analytics, Microsoft Excel, and artificial intelligence tools. His experience in technology training and data-related applications is expected to inform the programme’s practical approach to AI adoption in professional settings.
NIBAF Pakistan has set the training investment at PKR 24,000 per participant, plus applicable taxes. The online sessions will be interactive and practical, allowing participants to attend without travelling to a physical training venue. The nomination deadline is October 19, 2026, one day before the workshop begins. Professionals and organisations interested in participating can contact registration@nibaf.gov.pk or marketing@nibaf.org.pk for nominations and registration. Further information is also available through the telephone numbers 021-35277511 and 051-9269850, while enquiries can be made through WhatsApp at 0303-0652963.
The target audience includes management personnel and specialists whose responsibilities involve data handling, customer services, internal controls, operational efficiency, technology adoption, and business processes. Banking and financial services organisations, in particular, manage a wide range of activities that may involve document processing, reporting, data analysis, customer communication, compliance support, and administrative workflows. AI tools can assist with some of these tasks when used appropriately, although their implementation requires attention to accuracy, confidentiality, information security, and organisational policies. Training focused on real workplace applications can help professionals better understand both the potential uses and the limitations of these technologies.
The inclusion of human resources, audit, compliance, risk management, marketing, and customer experience professionals broadens the workshop’s relevance beyond information technology departments. Employees in these functions may encounter opportunities to use AI for drafting, summarising information, organising data, supporting research, and improving routine workflows. However, the suitability of individual applications depends on the task, the sensitivity of the information involved, and the level of human review required. For banking and financial institutions, these considerations are particularly important because employees may handle confidential customer information and regulated business records. Practical AI education can help participants assess where these tools may be useful while recognising the need for responsible use.
The October workshop forms part of NIBAF Pakistan’s professional training offering for the banking and wider business community. As organisations continue to evaluate AI-assisted workflows and digital transformation initiatives, employee skills development remains an important consideration for effective technology adoption. Through the two-day programme, the institute intends to provide professionals with practical exposure to AI tools and their application to workplace challenges. Interested participants must complete their nominations by October 19, 2026, ahead of the scheduled online sessions on October 20 and 21.
