NIBAF Pakistan has successfully concluded its five-day Islamic Banking Professional Development Program (IBPD-56), designed to strengthen the technical and Shariah-related expertise of professionals working in the Islamic banking and financial services sector. The programme was held from August 17 to August 21, 2026, at NIBAF Pakistan’s Islamabad Campus and was conducted through a face-to-face format. The programme brought together a range of specialised sessions covering the fundamentals of Islamic banking, financing structures, risk management and Shariah governance.
The five-day programme was structured to provide participants with exposure to key areas relevant to Islamic banking operations and professional responsibilities. Through dedicated modules delivered by experienced faculty members, the programme addressed both foundational concepts and specialised areas of Islamic finance. The sessions were arranged across the five days, with different faculty members leading participants through the respective subjects.
The first two days of IBPD-56, held on August 17 and 18, focused on the Fundamentals of Islamic Banking. These sessions were conducted by Dr. Rashid Mansoor and provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of the basic principles and concepts underlying Islamic banking. The opening module formed the foundation for the remaining sessions of the programme, allowing participants to build their knowledge before moving into more specialised areas of Islamic finance and banking.
On the third day, August 19, the programme shifted its focus towards Short & Long Term Financing. The session was delivered by Ms. Uzma Fayyaz and covered an important area of banking activity involving financing requirements across different periods. The inclusion of financing within the professional development programme provided participants with exposure to another core area of Islamic banking practice following the foundational sessions on Islamic banking concepts.
The final two days, August 20 and 21, focused on Risk Management & Shariah Governance, with the sessions conducted by Mufti Fawad Khan. These topics form an important part of the operational and governance framework of Islamic financial institutions, requiring professionals to understand both risk-related considerations and the Shariah requirements applicable to Islamic banking activities. The final module brought together the programme’s technical and Shariah dimensions as participants completed the five-day training.
NIBAF Pakistan conducted the entire programme at its Islamabad Campus through a face-to-face learning format. The physical setting provided participants with an opportunity to engage directly with faculty members during the specialised sessions and participate in a structured professional learning environment. The programme was aimed at supporting continued professional development among individuals involved in Islamic banking and related financial services.
The faculty lineup for IBPD-56 included professionals with expertise across the programme’s different subject areas. Dr. Rashid Mansoor led the sessions on Islamic banking fundamentals, Ms. Uzma Fayyaz delivered the module on short and long-term financing, while Mufti Fawad Khan conducted the sessions focused on risk management and Shariah governance. The division of the programme into specialised modules allowed each area to be addressed by the respective faculty member.
The completion of IBPD-56 reflects NIBAF Pakistan’s ongoing focus on professional training within the financial sector, particularly in areas related to Islamic banking. As Islamic finance continues to form an important part of Pakistan’s banking landscape, professional development programmes can provide banking personnel with opportunities to strengthen their understanding of technical banking practices and Shariah-related requirements.
NIBAF Pakistan congratulated all participants upon completing the comprehensive five-day programme. The institution said that continuously upgrading the technical and Shariah expertise of financial professionals remains an important part of strengthening professional capabilities across the Islamic banking sector.
Through programmes such as IBPD-56, NIBAF Pakistan continues to provide structured learning opportunities for financial professionals seeking to develop their knowledge of Islamic banking practices. The latest programme covered fundamental banking concepts, financing, risk management and Shariah governance across five days, providing participants with a broad training experience at the Islamabad Campus.
