NIBAF Pakistan has announced a specialised online executive training programme on Credit Risk Analysis scheduled for November 11, 2026. The session is designed for banking professionals seeking to strengthen their understanding of credit assessment, financial risk management and related banking practices. The interactive and practical training will run from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, providing participants with a focused learning session on credit risk analysis and its application in banking operations.
The programme is intended for professionals whose responsibilities involve evaluating borrowers, reviewing credit applications, managing lending activities and ensuring compliance with institutional requirements. Its target audience includes relationship managers, credit and credit administration officers, retail officers, branch managers, compliance officers, audit professionals and risk management officers. These roles are closely connected to the assessment and monitoring of credit exposure, making credit risk knowledge important for sound lending decisions and effective portfolio management.
The training will be facilitated by Imran Ali Soomro, an executive trainer at National Bank of Pakistan’s Staff College in Karachi. According to the programme announcement, Soomro has more than two decades of professional experience across credit risk analysis, financial risk management, corporate banking, credit administration, operational risk and compliance risk. His experience includes delivering training to banking professionals through institutions and platforms such as the Institute of Bankers Pakistan, NIBAF, the National Accountability Bureau, SME Bank, Sukkur IBA, SZABIST and NBP Jinnah National Management Development Centre.
Soomro has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Sukkur IBA and SZABIST Hyderabad since 2008. His combination of banking-related expertise and training experience is intended to support participants in developing practical knowledge relevant to their professional responsibilities. Credit risk analysis is a central part of lending because financial institutions need to assess whether borrowers can meet their repayment obligations and identify potential weaknesses before approving or extending financing. Effective assessment also supports the monitoring of existing credit facilities and helps institutions manage the risks associated with lending.
For relationship managers and credit officers, stronger analytical skills can assist in reviewing financial information, evaluating repayment capacity and understanding borrower risk. Branch managers and retail banking officers also need to understand credit processes to ensure that lending decisions follow internal policies and applicable requirements. Compliance, audit and risk management professionals, meanwhile, contribute to oversight by checking whether controls are properly applied and whether credit-related risks are identified and managed. The training is aimed at professionals across these functions rather than a single banking department.
The online format will allow participants to attend without travelling to a physical training venue. NIBAF has set the training investment at Rs10,000 plus applicable tax per participant. The last date for submitting nominations is November 10, 2026, one day before the scheduled session. Interested banking institutions and individual professionals are encouraged to complete the nomination and registration process before the deadline.
For nominations and registration, participants can contact NIBAF through registration@nibaf.gov.pk or marketing@nibaf.org.pk. Further information is available by telephone at 021-35277511 and 051-9269850. The organisation has also provided WhatsApp contact number 0303-0652963 for registration-related communication.
The programme forms part of professional learning opportunities available to banking personnel seeking to improve their understanding of credit assessment and risk management. As lending institutions manage different borrower profiles and financial exposures, credit risk analysis remains an important skill for maintaining lending quality and supporting responsible financial decisions. Through this scheduled executive session, NIBAF Pakistan aims to provide targeted training for professionals involved in credit, administration, branch operations, compliance, audit and risk management.
