NIBAF Pakistan is set to conduct a specialized one-day training programme on Customer Due Diligence and Risk Profiling at its Karachi Campus on October 7, 2026. The programme is designed for professionals seeking to strengthen their understanding of customer due diligence practices, risk profiling, transaction monitoring and related banking operations. The training will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the participation fee set at PKR 18,000 plus applicable tax per participant.
The training will be held at NIBAF Pakistan’s Karachi Campus and is scheduled as an in-person professional development programme. Participants interested in attending are required to submit their nominations by October 6, 2026. The programme is intended to provide banking professionals with exposure to customer-related risk management practices and operational processes that support regulatory compliance and the security of financial institutions and their customers.
The session will be facilitated by Qasid Mehdi, a banking professional with extensive experience in branch operations and financial risk management. His areas of professional expertise include investigating branch fraud and coordinating with fraud departments to maintain operational integrity. He also has experience in transaction monitoring, where financial activities and alerts are reviewed to identify potential risks and support appropriate mitigation measures.
Mehdi’s professional experience also includes customer risk profiling and alert management. These functions can help financial institutions identify unusual activity and respond to emerging risks through established monitoring and control processes. He has also worked on implementing regulatory requirements for branch operations and has collaborated with centralized account-opening departments to support compliance with industry standards and improve operational procedures.
According to the programme information, Mehdi has conducted more than 300 training sessions and trained over 5,000 participants during his professional career. His training experience covers areas connected with banking operations, compliance and risk management. He is also the author of the books “Managing Challenges in Branch Banking Operations” and “Economic Growth Through Islamic Banking,” reflecting his involvement in professional and educational discussions related to the banking sector.
Customer due diligence forms an important part of banking operations because financial institutions need to establish and maintain appropriate information about customers and understand the nature of their relationships and transactions. Risk profiling complements this process by helping institutions assess customer-related risks and apply appropriate monitoring measures. The training’s focus on these areas is therefore linked with broader operational and regulatory responsibilities within the banking industry.
The programme will also cover areas associated with transaction monitoring, fraud identification, alert management and regulatory implementation, based on the facilitator’s stated areas of professional experience. These functions are relevant to branch operations and centralized banking processes, where effective controls are required to maintain operational standards and address potential risks involving customer accounts and transactions.
NIBAF Pakistan has set the training investment at PKR 18,000 plus tax per participant. Registration and nomination inquiries can be submitted through registration@nibaf.gov.pk and marketing@nibaf.org.pk. Participants can also contact NIBAF Pakistan through 021-35277511 and 051-9269850, while WhatsApp support is available at 0303-0652963.
The October 7 programme will provide banking professionals with a dedicated full-day session on Customer Due Diligence and Risk Profiling at NIBAF Pakistan’s Karachi Campus. With the training covering customer-related risk management, transaction monitoring, fraud investigation and regulatory requirements, the programme is structured around operational and compliance practices used within financial institutions.
