The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan (NIBAF Pakistan) has announced a specialised executive workshop titled “The Art of Skillful Negotiation” for professionals seeking to strengthen their negotiation, communication and leadership capabilities. The one-day programme will take place on November 19, 2026, at NIBAF Pakistan’s Karachi Campus. The training is designed for managers and business leaders whose responsibilities involve strategic discussions, commercial relationships, operational decisions and negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
The workshop will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a training fee of Rs18,000 per participant, excluding applicable taxes. NIBAF Pakistan has set November 18, 2026, as the deadline for submitting nominations. The programme is intended to provide participants with an opportunity to develop practical approaches to negotiation and improve their ability to handle professional discussions in a structured and effective manner.
The target audience includes middle and senior managers involved in strategic negotiations, corporate relationship managers, business heads, department heads and operational leaders. These professionals regularly deal with situations in which they must balance business objectives, organisational priorities and the expectations of different stakeholders. Negotiation skills can be relevant when discussing commercial terms, managing client relationships, resolving workplace disagreements and reaching agreements that support organisational goals.
The workshop will be facilitated by Usman Butt, founder and chief executive of Level Up, a people and learning solutions organisation. According to the programme announcement, Butt has more than 24 years of corporate experience, including 23 years in the banking sector. His professional background includes experience with Askari Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, MCB Bank and the National Development Finance Corporation.
Butt holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Institute of Business Administration in Karachi and a Diploma in Banking, which he completed with double distinction. He is also a certified practitioner in neuro-linguistic programming and mind sciences. His areas of specialisation include leadership development, executive coaching, sales effectiveness and behavioural transformation. This combination of banking experience and professional learning expertise forms the background for his role as facilitator of the programme.
Negotiation is an important management skill because business decisions often involve different priorities, expectations and constraints. Managers may need to secure favourable commercial terms while maintaining long-term relationships, address concerns raised by clients or colleagues, or find practical solutions when parties disagree. A structured approach can help professionals prepare for discussions, communicate their requirements clearly and assess available options before reaching an agreement.
For corporate relationship managers and business heads, negotiation can influence customer retention, commercial partnerships and the development of new business opportunities. Department heads and operational leaders may use similar skills when allocating resources, coordinating teams and resolving differences across functions. Strengthening these capabilities can support clearer communication and more consistent decision-making, particularly in roles that require regular interaction with multiple stakeholders.
The programme also aligns with the professional development needs of banking and corporate management teams, where technical knowledge is often complemented by communication, leadership and relationship-management abilities. Executive coaching and behavioural development can help managers examine their negotiation styles and understand how their communication choices affect discussions. The workshop’s focus on skillful negotiation is intended to provide relevant learning for professionals dealing with both strategic and day-to-day business matters.
NIBAF Pakistan is accepting nominations and registrations through registration@nibaf.gov.pk and marketing@nibaf.org.pk. Interested participants can also contact the institute at 021-35277511 or 051-9269850, or reach the organisers through WhatsApp at 0303-0652963. Nominations must be submitted by November 18, one day before the scheduled workshop.
The executive workshop provides a training opportunity for professionals looking to improve their negotiation and leadership skills through a programme led by an experienced banking and learning professional. By bringing together managers, corporate relationship teams and operational leaders, NIBAF Pakistan aims to support the development of practical capabilities that can be applied in business discussions, workplace relationships and organisational decision-making.
