1LINK Appoints New Board Of Directors To Drive Pakistan’s Digital Payments Ecosystem

1LINK (Private) Limited, Pakistan’s first fully licensed and designated Payment System Operator (PSO), has welcomed its newly constituted Board of Directors, marking the beginning of a new leadership term focused on strengthening the country’s digital payments infrastructure. The first board meeting was held on July 31, 2026, in Karachi, where the new directors officially commenced their tenure and discussed the company’s strategic priorities for the years ahead.

According to the company, the inaugural meeting reaffirmed 1LINK’s commitment to strong corporate governance, strategic leadership, and institutional excellence. The Board deliberated on the organization’s future direction and outlined priorities aimed at supporting the continued growth of Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem. The new leadership is expected to guide 1LINK through its next phase of expansion while continuing to play a central role in advancing secure, efficient, and accessible payment services across the country.

The newly constituted Board of Directors is chaired by Atif Bajwa, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Alfalah Limited. Other board members include Nasir Salim, President and Chief Executive Officer of Habib Bank Limited; Yousaf Hussain, President and Chief Executive Officer of Faysal Bank Limited; Mujahid Ali, Chief Technology and Digital Transformation Officer at Allied Bank Limited; Abdul Wahid Sethi, Chief Financial Officer of National Bank of Pakistan; Ali Naqvi, Chief Digital Officer of Askari Bank Limited; Ammara Masood, Global Industry General Manager for Banking and Financial Services at Systems Limited, serving as an Independent Director; Tania Aidrus, Chief Executive Officer of Waseela Global, also serving as an Independent Director; an additional Independent Director to be appointed; and Najeeb Agrawalla, Chief Executive Officer of 1LINK.

Following the board meeting, 1LINK organized a special town hall attended by more than 450 employees. The event provided staff members with an opportunity to meet the newly appointed Board and hear its vision for the organization. During the session, Chairman Atif Bajwa addressed employees, highlighting the importance of leadership, collaboration, innovation, and people in supporting the company’s long term objectives and continued success.

Chief Executive Officer Najeeb Agrawalla congratulated the newly appointed directors and welcomed them to the organization. Established as a consortium of 11 banks, 1LINK is Pakistan’s first fully licensed and designated Payment System Operator. The company provides a range of digital payment services to more than 5,000 business customers, including banks, billers, aggregators, and affiliated institutions. Through its payment infrastructure and technology platforms, 1LINK continues to support the Cashless Pakistan initiative and remains an important enabler of digital financial services.
