National Institute of Banking and Finance Announces Specialized Financial Instruments Authentication Masterclass in Karachi

The National Institute of Banking and Finance has officially announced an intensive training program titled Safeguarding Financial Instruments Handwriting Analysis and Document Authentication Masterclass. Scheduled to take place on August 19, 2026, the single-day program is designed to address an evolving threat landscape involving negotiable instrument fraud, identity-related vulnerabilities, and Know Your Customer documentation risks. Operating out of the specialized NIBAF campus located on M.T. Khan Road near Sultanabad in Karachi, the course runs from nine in the morning until five in the evening, providing technical, hands-on training to banking sector professionals seeking to reinforce institutional risk control competencies.

The institutional training investment is set at eighteen thousand Pakistani rupees plus applicable taxes per individual participant, with a corporate discount structure available for organizations submitting group nominations of five or more professionals. The curriculum targets specific high-risk operational segments within the domestic banking framework, making it highly relevant for branch banking and operations managers, internal compliance and corporate audit teams, fraud risk assessment units, and customer service staff managing check clearing and settlement functions. By equipping these specific departments with advanced handwriting analysis tools, the institute aims to mitigate white-collar crimes and unauthorized alterations before they impact the financial ecosystem.

Leading the masterclass is Naveed Elahi Malik, a senior commercial banking expert who commands over forty-five years of professional experience across several prominent financial institutions and public sector entities. Malik has previously served as the head of internal control, fraud risk management, regulatory compliance, and legal affairs for leading banks, alongside a prominent assignment as the head of the financial crimes and investigation wing at the National Accountability Bureau. A holder of a Masters degree in Economics and a Diploma Associate of the Institute of Bankers Pakistan, his training credentials span twenty-five years across various global and domestic platforms, earning him a spot on the approved list of international trainers for the World Bank International Finance Corporation.

Participants attending this masterclass will cover an array of critical core topics, including the fundamental principles of signature analysis, individual handwriting characteristics, graphological interpretations, and structured comparison methodologies. The practical learning framework ensures that professionals gain direct exposure to specialized forensic document examination equipment, utilizing advanced magnification tools, ultraviolet light, and infrared inspection techniques to successfully differentiate between authentic signatures and disguised or forged handwritings. The final enrollment deadline for corporate and individual nominations is fixed for August 18, 2026, with the operational application process managed through the designated training coordinator at the central bank infrastructure.
