The second module of IBCC-79 was organized at NIBAF Pakistan’s Karachi Campus and provided participating banking professionals with an opportunity to further develop their understanding of Islamic banking concepts and practices. The programme brought together stakeholders from commercial banks as well as officers from State Bank of Pakistan, creating a professional learning environment involving participants from different parts of Pakistan’s banking regulatory and financial ecosystem.
Islamic banking has become an increasingly important component of Pakistan’s financial sector, with banks and regulators working to expand Shariah-compliant financial products and strengthen the infrastructure required to support their growth. Professional training plays an important role in developing the technical knowledge required by banking officers to work effectively within Islamic finance frameworks. Through courses such as IBCC-79, NIBAF Pakistan provides banking professionals with structured opportunities to enhance their expertise in an area that continues to receive attention across the country’s financial industry.
Module 2 of the Islamic Banking Certificate Course was conducted over six days, from August 17 through August 22, at the Karachi Campus. The programme was supported by a panel of expert trainers who guided participants through the training sessions. The involvement of experienced trainers allows banking officers to benefit from professional knowledge and practical perspectives relevant to the functioning of Islamic financial institutions and Shariah-compliant banking operations.
The participation of both commercial bank officers and SBP officers also highlights the importance of common professional understanding across banking institutions and the regulatory framework. As Pakistan continues to develop its Islamic banking ecosystem, strengthening the skills of professionals working within banks and regulatory institutions can contribute to more effective implementation of Shariah-compliant financial practices and support the development of the sector.
NIBAF Pakistan has continued to support capacity building within the country’s financial industry through specialized training programmes for banking professionals. Its Islamic Banking Certificate Course forms part of these efforts, focusing on the development of knowledge and professional skills required by individuals working in Islamic finance and related banking functions. The programme also provides participants with an opportunity to engage with expert trainers and fellow professionals from the banking industry.
The IBCC-79 programme reflects the broader requirement for a skilled workforce as Pakistan’s Islamic banking sector continues to develop. Financial institutions require trained professionals who understand the principles, structures and operational requirements associated with Shariah-compliant banking. Building this expertise can support banks as they expand Islamic financial services and respond to the evolving needs of customers seeking Shariah-compliant products.
The successful completion of Module 2 reinforces NIBAF Pakistan’s role in providing specialized professional education for the financial sector. By organizing structured programmes for commercial bank and SBP officers, the institution contributes to continuous professional development across Pakistan’s banking industry. Such training initiatives can help strengthen institutional capabilities while supporting the development of professionals equipped to work within the country’s Islamic finance framework.
NIBAF Pakistan remains focused on advancing Islamic finance education and developing a skilled workforce capable of supporting Pakistan’s Shariah-compliant banking ecosystem.
