NIBAF Pakistan To Host Strategic AML/CFT Management Program On September 23

NIBAF Pakistan is set to organize an insightful learning program titled “Strategic AML/CFT Management: Governance, Risk & Compliance” on September 23, 2026, in Karachi. The program will focus on strengthening Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism frameworks by highlighting the importance of effective governance, informed leadership, sound risk management and strong institutional oversight. The session is designed to provide participants with a broader understanding of how strong management practices can support effective compliance frameworks across financial institutions.

The program will be facilitated by Ms. Lubna Farooq Malik, Chief Executive Officer of NIBAF Pakistan, who brings more than 20 years of professional experience in the banking and financial sector, including extensive service at the State Bank of Pakistan. Her career includes senior leadership positions and responsibilities related to financial regulation, institutional oversight and financial sector stability, giving her extensive experience in areas connected to financial monitoring, deposit protection and regulatory frameworks.

Ms. Malik has previously served as Director General of the Financial Monitoring Unit and as Managing Director of the Deposit Protection Corporation. Her professional background includes significant responsibilities within Pakistan’s financial sector and exposure to key areas of financial monitoring and institutional risk management. The program will also draw on Ms. Malik’s experience representing Pakistan at several international forums and organizations. Her professional engagements have included participation in the Financial Action Task Force, Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering, International Association of Deposit Insurers and Financial Stability Board.
