Zong has received four awards in the telecommunications category at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2026, held in Singapore on October 20, strengthening its position in Pakistan’s technology and telecommunications sector. The awards recognize the company’s work across artificial intelligence, network management, consumer services, brand innovation and digital business operations. According to the company, the recognition reflects its efforts to apply advanced technologies and locally developed engineering capabilities to improve customer experiences, support business partners and contribute to Pakistan’s expanding digital ecosystem.
The awards cover four areas of innovation, demonstrating how Zong is using digital technologies across different parts of its operations. The company received recognition for its AI-powered 5G launch campaign, its artificial intelligence-based network optimization platform, the My5 Family Sharing Package and its digital commission governance engine, DI-CAPE. These initiatives focus on different aspects of telecommunications, ranging from how consumers understand and access new technology to how network resources and business processes are managed. Together, they illustrate Zong’s approach to incorporating artificial intelligence and digital tools into its services and internal operations.
Zong won the Pakistan Brand Innovation of the Year award for its artificial intelligence-powered 5G launch campaign, “AIsa Hai Future.” The campaign combined artificial intelligence, augmented intelligence and Pakistani creativity to present the future of digital connectivity through a customer-focused brand message. Rather than relying solely on conventional telecommunications advertising, the campaign used AI as both a creative tool and a central theme, aiming to make emerging technology more relevant and understandable to consumers. Zong said the campaign helped narrow its brand equity gap, achieve parity in unaided brand association with 5G and improve brand differentiation through stronger uniqueness and memorability. The award recognizes the company’s use of technology and local creative input to communicate its 5G ambitions to the Pakistani market.
The company also received Pakistan Technology Innovation of the Year for its Self-Intelligent Radio Access Network Optimization platform, an artificial intelligence-driven solution developed in-house. The platform is designed to identify network congestion, determine appropriate corrective measures, implement those actions and verify their results. By automating these activities, the system aims to reduce the time required to address network issues and improve the use of available network resources. Intelligent network optimization is particularly relevant during periods of high demand, when congestion can affect connectivity and service quality. Zong said the platform supports a transition toward more autonomous network operations, helping it respond more efficiently to changing network conditions and deliver a more consistent experience for users.
Another award recognized Zong’s My5 Family Sharing Package, which won Pakistan Consumer Service Innovation of the Year. The package is designed to address the connectivity needs of households by combining family connectivity with additional benefits. These include embedded insurance coverage, lifestyle perks and access to digital streaming services. By bringing several services together in one offering, My5 aims to provide families with greater flexibility and convenience while offering an alternative to traditional home broadband arrangements for some users. The recognition highlights Zong’s efforts to develop services around everyday consumer requirements rather than focusing exclusively on mobile connectivity. The company positions the package as a way to combine communication needs with lifestyle-related digital benefits.
Zong’s fourth award was Pakistan Financial Innovation of the Year for DI-CAPE, its digital commission governance engine. The platform uses intelligent automation to strengthen business governance, improve process efficiency and increase transparency across the company’s distribution ecosystem. Commission management and related processes are important to relationships between telecommunications operators and their distribution partners. By digitizing and automating these activities, DI-CAPE is intended to make business processes more consistent and transparent while improving operational efficiency and partner support. The award demonstrates that Zong’s digital innovation strategy extends beyond customer-facing products to include the systems used to manage commercial relationships and internal business operations.
Commenting on the recognition, Nabila Yazdani, Zong’s Head of Strategy and Company Spokesperson, said the four awards validated the company’s technology leadership and its commitment to applying 5G, artificial intelligence and locally developed digital solutions to practical needs. She highlighted the company’s work in AI-driven network intelligence, customer-focused connectivity, transparent business processes and its 5G brand campaign. Yazdani also said the company’s objective was to turn innovation into tangible value for customers, partners and society while supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation. Her comments placed the awards within Zong’s broader focus on customer experience and the development of a more connected digital ecosystem.
The recognition is aligned with Zong’s stated priorities of improving customer experience, diversifying its products and services, and expanding the use of artificial intelligence. The company says it is continuing to invest in 5G, AI, digital platforms and in-house technical capabilities to improve network performance, streamline operations and develop new digital experiences. The four awards highlight the range of areas in which it is applying these technologies, from telecommunications infrastructure to consumer packages and distribution management.
For Pakistan’s telecommunications sector, the recognition also reflects the growing importance of AI-enabled services and digital operating systems as companies compete on network quality, customer value and operational efficiency. Zong’s initiatives show how innovation can extend beyond launching new connectivity technologies to include automated network management, integrated consumer offerings and more transparent business processes. The long-term impact of these initiatives will depend on how effectively they perform at scale and how much value customers and partners receive from them. Through its continued investment in technology and digital services, Zong aims to contribute to Pakistan’s wider digital development and support a more connected, technology-oriented economy.
