ICMA Announces Leadership Lecture with Andleeb Abbas on November 10, 2026

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA) is set to organise a thought leadership lecture examining how leaders can manage uncertainty, respond to rapid change and build resilient organisations in an increasingly disruptive business environment. Scheduled for November 10, 2026, the session will feature Ms. Andleeb Abbas, Senior Consultant at FranklinCovey Pakistan, who will share perspectives on leadership development, strategic planning and organisational transformation.

The lecture is part of ICMA’s Thought Leadership Lecture Series and is being arranged by the institute’s Research and Publications Committee, chaired by Mr. Muhammad Yasin, FCMA, President of ICMA. The programme is intended for ICMA members, students and professionals interested in understanding the leadership approaches required to manage organisational challenges and changing market conditions.

Titled “Leading in the World of Disruption”, the session will focus on the responsibilities of leaders as organisations face uncertainty, evolving business requirements and rapid changes in their operating environments. Disruption can affect business strategies, workforce expectations, operational structures and the way organisations deliver products and services. Leaders must therefore be able to assess emerging challenges, adjust their strategies and maintain organisational direction while responding to changing circumstances.

Andleeb Abbas will draw on more than three decades of professional experience to discuss leadership development and the approaches organisations can adopt to navigate periods of change. Her presentation will explore how leaders can strengthen their strategic thinking, encourage innovation and guide teams through organisational transformation. The discussion is also expected to examine the importance of developing leadership capabilities that help organisations remain adaptable and resilient.

Strategic planning is another key area of the programme. In uncertain business conditions, organisations need to review their priorities and consider how internal capabilities and external developments may affect long-term objectives. Effective planning requires leaders to understand the challenges facing their organisations while making decisions that support sustainable performance. The session will provide an opportunity to consider how strategic planning can be connected with leadership practices and organisational adaptability.

The lecture will also address the role of innovation in managing disruption. Organisations operating in changing environments may need to reconsider established processes, explore new approaches and encourage employees to contribute ideas. Leadership plays an important role in creating an environment where teams can respond constructively to change and participate in organisational improvement. The discussion will consider how leaders can support innovation while maintaining focus on institutional goals.

Organisational transformation will form another part of the conversation, particularly the role of leadership in guiding people and institutions through significant changes. Transformation can involve adjustments to business strategies, internal processes, management practices and organisational culture. Leaders are responsible for communicating priorities, supporting teams and ensuring that changes are aligned with the wider direction of the organisation.

The event reflects ICMA’s effort to provide members, students and professionals with opportunities to engage with experienced practitioners and explore subjects relevant to management and professional development. Through its Research and Publications Committee, the institute is bringing attention to leadership issues that affect organisations across different sectors. The lecture format also provides participants with an opportunity to consider practical perspectives on managing disruption and strengthening organisational capabilities.

The session will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the ICMA Campus in Lahore. It will carry two hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit and will be followed by refreshments. Participants who cannot attend the event in person will also be able to follow the session through live broadcasts on Facebook and LinkedIn.

ICMA has invited interested members, students and professionals to register by scanning the QR code provided on the event flyer. The institute is encouraging participants to join the discussion and use the session as an opportunity to explore how leadership approaches can help organisations respond to uncertainty, adapt to changing conditions and maintain resilience.

By featuring a senior consultant with extensive experience in leadership and organisational development, the programme will bring professional perspectives to the challenges of leading through disruption. The discussion will focus on the connection between strategic planning, innovation and effective leadership, providing participants with insights into the capabilities organisations need as business environments continue to change.
