DIB Pakistan Names Syed Ali Raza Rizvi Business Head for SME and Commercial Banking

Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan has announced the appointment of Syed Ali Raza Rizvi as Business Head, SME & Commercial Banking, adding an experienced banking professional to its senior leadership team. Rizvi brings 22 years of experience across Commercial and SME Banking, with a career that includes senior roles at financial institutions such as Faysal Bank Limited and JS Bank. His appointment places him in charge of an important area of the bank’s business focused on serving small and medium-sized enterprises as well as commercial banking customers.

Before joining Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan, Rizvi served as Senior Regional Head (North & South) at Faysal Bank Limited. In that position, he was responsible for leading and managing significant commercial and SME financing portfolios across the regions under his remit. His previous responsibilities gave him exposure to commercial financing activities, SME banking relationships and portfolio management, contributing to the professional experience he now brings to his new position at DIB Pakistan.

Rizvi’s professional background spans more than two decades in the banking sector, with a particular focus on commercial and SME banking. His experience at institutions including Faysal Bank and JS Bank has involved senior-level responsibilities within banking operations and financing. The appointment comes as banks continue to maintain dedicated business segments for SMEs and commercial customers, which require specialised banking services and financing solutions based on the requirements of businesses operating at different stages of growth.

In addition to his professional banking experience, Rizvi is an alumnus of the University of Karachi. He has also completed professional certifications in Leadership, Credit and Islamic Banking from the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF). His academic background and professional certifications add to his experience in areas relevant to his new responsibilities, particularly credit management, leadership and Islamic banking practices.

Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan has welcomed Rizvi to the organisation following his appointment and expressed its wishes for continued success in his new role. As Business Head, SME & Commercial Banking, his responsibilities will cover a business area that serves enterprises and commercial customers through banking and financing services. The role combines his previous experience in SME and commercial banking with DIB Pakistan’s operations as an Islamic bank in the country.

The appointment adds another senior banking professional with extensive sector experience to DIB Pakistan’s leadership structure. Rizvi’s previous work managing commercial and SME financing portfolios, together with his experience at Faysal Bank and JS Bank and professional certifications from NIBAF, forms the background to his new position. His move to DIB Pakistan marks the latest stage in a 22-year banking career focused on commercial and SME banking.
