Jazz And iTecknologi To Launch Drivver With Free Network Access And JazzCash Payments

Jazz has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iTecknologi to support the launch of Drivver, a new ride hailing platform designed to bring mobility, connectivity, digital payments and financial services together within a single integrated ecosystem. The partnership combines Jazz’s nationwide connectivity, digital reach and distribution capabilities with the financial services ecosystem of JazzCash and iTecknologi’s experience in connected mobility, Internet of Things (IoT), fleet technology and large scale operational execution. Drivver is expected to provide transportation options across cars, motorcycles and rickshaws, giving users access to multiple mobility choices through the platform.

One of the key features planned for Drivver is access for riders and drivers using the Jazz network without consuming their mobile data. This means users will be able to book, accept and manage rides through the platform without needing to purchase a separate internet package for the application. The feature is intended to make digital mobility more accessible to a wider group of users, particularly young people, students, gig workers and drivers who may be sensitive to mobile data costs. By reducing one of the barriers to accessing a digital ride hailing service, the platform aims to expand participation in app based mobility services.

JazzCash will provide digital payment capabilities across the Drivver ecosystem, giving riders and drivers another way to manage transactions while supporting greater convenience and transparency. The financial services component is also designed to create opportunities for drivers who primarily operate through cash. By participating in digital transactions through the platform, these drivers could establish a digital financial footprint and gain greater participation in Pakistan’s formal financial ecosystem. Eligible users may also be connected with relevant microfinance and other financial products, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and regulatory requirements.

Shahzad Rasheed, President Enterprise Solutions at JazzWorld, said the partnership brings together mobility, connectivity and digital financial services at a national scale. According to Rasheed, Drivver is intended to use Jazz’s digital capabilities to make everyday mobility more accessible while providing drivers, young people and consumers with opportunities to participate more deeply in Pakistan’s digital economy. He added that Jazz is looking forward to bringing the proposition to the market as the two companies work toward the platform’s rollout.

Under the partnership arrangement, iTecknologi will take the lead on Drivver’s technology, product innovation and operational execution, while Jazz will provide support through its nationwide connectivity, digital infrastructure and distribution capabilities. This division of responsibilities combines iTecknologi’s focus on connected mobility and technology solutions with Jazz’s extensive telecommunications and digital services infrastructure. The companies are currently working through dedicated teams to prepare the platform for its expected market launch in the near future.

Salman Hussain, Founder and CEO of iTecknologi, said Drivver is intended to offer a different approach to ride hailing in Pakistan rather than functioning as another conventional ride hailing application. He highlighted free access to the application for Jazz network users, digital payments through JazzCash, improved economics for drivers and access to a wider financial ecosystem as key elements of the platform. According to Hussain, these features are designed to change the proposition for both drivers and riders and potentially reshape how ride hailing services operate in the country.

The commercial model is another central feature of Drivver. Instead of relying on a growing percentage based commission charged to drivers, the platform is being designed around a transparent fixed cost model. The approach is intended to allow drivers to retain more of their earnings as their work and ride volumes increase. The lower cost structure for drivers is also expected to support more affordable journeys for riders. Drivver will additionally offer introductory promotions when it launches, while complete commercial details are expected to be announced closer to the rollout.

The platform is being developed with Pakistan’s young and increasingly digital population in mind, with the companies aiming to provide a more connected mobility experience while creating additional earning opportunities for drivers. The integration of digital payments and financial services is also expected to extend the platform beyond transportation by giving participating users access to a broader digital financial ecosystem. The companies believe that the combination of connectivity, mobility and financial services can support wider participation in Pakistan’s digital economy.

JazzWorld operates an integrated digital services portfolio that includes connectivity through Jazz, financial services through JazzCash and Mobilink Bank, entertainment through Tamasha, the SIMOSA ultra app, FikrFree insurtech, Garaj enterprise cloud solutions, GameNow gaming, Apna Clinic health technology and Zarr fashion marketplace. The company says its strategy has evolved beyond connectivity toward broader digital capabilities and platforms.

iTecknologi is a connected mobility, IoT and technology solutions provider operating across Pakistan. The company serves more than 200,000 customers through nationwide operations covering vehicle tracking, fleet management, IoT, digital platforms and mobility technology. Through its partnership with Jazz, the company is now preparing to extend these capabilities into the ride hailing market through Drivver, with the platform expected to become available to users following completion of the rollout preparations.
