JS Bank has been recognised with the Mobile App Award at the Asian Banking & Finance Fintech Awards 2026 for its digital banking application, highlighting the bank’s continued focus on technology driven financial services. The award recognises the digital capabilities incorporated into the bank’s mobile application, which brings multiple banking and payment services together within a single platform. The recognition places JS Bank among financial institutions being acknowledged across Asia for their work in financial technology and digital banking.
The JS Bank mobile application combines a range of digital banking services designed to allow customers to manage financial activities through their smartphones. Among its key features is JSense, described as Pakistan’s first in app AI banking assistant. The feature allows customers to interact with the application conversationally and obtain information about products, services and available discounts. By incorporating an AI based assistant directly into the banking application, JS Bank has added an interactive layer to the way customers can access information about its financial offerings.
Another feature included in the application is Pay in a Blink, a Face ID based transaction approval facility. The feature allows customers to approve supported transactions using facial recognition instead of relying on traditional One Time Passwords (OTPs). This functionality is intended to simplify transaction approval while providing customers with an alternative authentication method within the mobile banking environment. The integration of biometric approval into the application forms part of the bank’s broader approach to making digital banking interactions more direct.
The application also provides customers with access to Raast transfers, allowing users to send funds through Pakistan’s instant payment infrastructure. QR payment functionality is also included, giving customers another digital option for making payments. In addition, customers can manage their debit cards through the application, bringing several banking functions together within the same digital platform. The combination of payment services, card management and AI enabled assistance provides customers with access to multiple banking activities without requiring separate digital applications.
JS Bank President and CEO Basir Shamsie welcomed the recognition and highlighted the bank’s focus on technology within Pakistan’s financial services industry. He said the bank has sought to introduce technological developments that make banking simpler and more convenient for customers. Shamsie also referred to the bank’s earlier introduction of WhatsApp Banking and its development of JSense, describing the latest recognition as an indication of the bank’s continued focus on technology driven banking services.
The Mobile App Award adds to JS Bank’s efforts to expand its digital banking capabilities and integrate technology into customer interactions. Features such as conversational AI, biometric transaction approvals, instant payment services and QR payments are increasingly becoming part of the digital banking experience. By incorporating these functions into its mobile application, JS Bank is seeking to provide customers with a broader range of banking services through a single digital channel.
The recognition also highlights the increasing role of financial technology in Pakistan’s banking sector. Banks are investing in mobile applications and digital infrastructure as customers increasingly use smartphones to access financial services, make payments and manage accounts. The inclusion of AI based assistance and biometric authentication demonstrates how banking applications are evolving beyond basic account management toward more interactive and technology enabled services.
The Asian Banking & Finance Fintech Awards recognise financial institutions and fintech companies across Asia for achievements in financial technology and digital innovation. The awards highlight developments in areas such as digital banking, fintech services and technology based financial solutions. JS Bank’s recognition in the Mobile App category reflects the capabilities of its digital banking application and the range of technology features incorporated into the platform.
JS Bank has continued to expand its technology focused banking services as part of its broader digital strategy. The bank’s mobile application combines traditional digital banking functions with newer technologies including artificial intelligence and biometric authentication. Through features such as JSense, Pay in a Blink, Raast transfers, QR payments and debit card management, the platform provides customers with multiple ways to access and use banking services digitally.
The award further positions JS Bank’s mobile application as an example of the increasing integration of advanced technology into Pakistan’s financial services sector. As banks continue developing digital channels, features that improve accessibility, transaction convenience and customer interaction are becoming increasingly important. JS Bank’s latest recognition reflects its efforts to incorporate these capabilities into its mobile banking platform while continuing to expand the use of technology across its services.
