LOLC Microfinance Bank Surpasses PKR 20 Billion Loan Portfolio Milestone

LOLC Microfinance Bank Pakistan has achieved a major institutional milestone by surpassing twenty billion rupees in gross loan portfolio, establishing itself as one of the fastest growing microfinance institutions operating within the national banking sector. The bank expanded its gross loan portfolio from four point forty-seven billion rupees in 2024 to twenty billion rupees, demonstrating rapid operational expansion driven by disciplined execution, network growth, customer acquisition, and an ongoing commitment to expanding financial inclusion across underserved market segments throughout Pakistan.

Commenting on the financial achievement, Farooq Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of LOLC Microfinance Bank Pakistan, stated that reaching the twenty billion rupee mark reflects the growing confidence of customers and the dedicated performance of staff nationwide. He noted that while the bank celebrates this operational milestone, long-term strategic focus remains anchored on broadening geographic reach, improving service capabilities, and delivering enhanced financial value to local communities and micro-entrepreneurs.

Outlining the underlying commercial strategy, Nizar Noor Ali Momnani, Chief Commercial Officer, explained that the current growth trajectory stems from targeted investments made two years ago in workforce development, branch network expansion, corporate branding, and product refinement. He emphasized that the upcoming growth phase will prioritize digital transformation, continuous financial product innovation, and a deeper understanding of evolving customer needs to make retail micro-banking services faster, simpler, and more accessible.

Addressing operational efficiency, Ilsam Awfer, Chief Operating Officer, highlighted that the milestone underscores the resilience of the bank’s underlying operating model and operational execution. He observed that ongoing improvements in process efficiency, service delivery, and operational controls have established a reliable structural foundation designed to support sustainable and scalable business expansion in the years ahead.

The portfolio milestone follows the recent opening of the bank’s new corporate head office in Gulberg Greens, Islamabad. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Fred Seneviratne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, alongside Krishan Thilakaratne, Chairman of LOLC Microfinance Bank Pakistan. The establishment of the modern headquarters signals continued capital investment into local institutional infrastructure to support long-term corporate ambitions and expanding regional operations.

As a member of the international LOLC Group, which maintains financial services operations across more than twenty-five countries, the local microfinance entity remains focused on promoting financial inclusion, encouraging small-scale entrepreneurship, and generating sustainable economic opportunities. Backed by solid business momentum, expanding digital infrastructure, and a growing branch presence, the institution is positioned to play an increasingly prominent role in expanding micro-credit accessibility across urban and rural markets in Pakistan.
