NIBAF Pakistan has conducted a series of technical and professional development modules under the sixth cohort of its Islamic Finance Professionals Program (IFPP-6) for officials of the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC). The training was held at NIBAF Pakistan’s Islamabad Campus and covered areas related to Islamic finance governance, banking operations and professional communication.
The programme included a module on the Shariah Governance Framework conducted on September 15, 2026, with Mr. Waqas Hamid serving as the facilitator. The session focused on the governance structures and mechanisms that support Shariah compliance within Islamic financial institutions, an area that is relevant to the oversight and development of Islamic banking operations.
The second module, held on September 16, focused on Pool Management in Islamic Banks and was facilitated by Mr. Imran Yusuf Shaikh. Pool management is an important component of Islamic banking operations, particularly in relation to the management and distribution of funds and profits among relevant stakeholders. The module provided participants with technical exposure to the frameworks associated with managing pools within Islamic banks.
The programme also included a professional development component covering Executive Communication and Presentation Skills. The module was conducted from September 17 to September 18, 2026, under the facilitation of Dr. Irum Saba. The session addressed communication and presentation competencies that officials can use in professional settings, including policy discussions, institutional engagement and interaction with stakeholders.
Together, the three modules combined technical Islamic finance training with professional development. The programme covered Shariah governance mechanisms, pool management frameworks and executive communication, providing participants with training across both operational and professional areas relevant to their responsibilities.
The training was conducted for SBP-BSC officials as part of NIBAF Pakistan’s capacity-building activities for professionals working in the central banking and financial sector environment. The focus on Islamic finance reflects the continuing need for specialized knowledge among officials involved in areas connected with the governance, oversight and development of Islamic banking in Pakistan.
Through IFPP-6, NIBAF Pakistan is providing structured learning opportunities covering different dimensions of Islamic finance and related professional competencies. The programme combines subject-specific modules with skills development, allowing participants to strengthen their understanding of Islamic banking frameworks while also developing communication capabilities relevant to their institutional roles.
The latest modules form part of NIBAF Pakistan’s broader professional training activities aimed at strengthening the capabilities of financial-sector officials. By bringing together Shariah governance, Islamic banking pool management and executive communication, the programme provides participants with training covering both technical knowledge and professional skills required in the Islamic finance environment.
