NIBAF Pakistan Launches Certified Trade Professional Program in Lahore and Islamabad

The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan, a specialized executive training subsidiary of the State Bank of Pakistan, has announced the launch of its flagship executive certification initiative titled the Certified Trade Professional program. Designed to address the growing operational complexities of international commerce, global trade settlement, and cross-border regulatory compliance, the three-day intensive certification will be offered across the institute’s campuses in Lahore and Islamabad in September 2026. According to official program details, the Certified Trade Professional course will run as a face-to-face interactive learning initiative operating daily from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM. The first session will take place at the NIBAF Lahore Campus from September 07 to September 09, 2026, followed immediately by the second session at the NIBAF Islamabad Campus from September 10 to September 12, 2026. The training investment per participant has been fixed at 54,000 Pakistani rupees plus applicable government taxes, with the final deadline for institutional and individual nominations set for September 03, 2026.

The program has been structured to serve a broad range of professional stakeholders operating across the trade ecosystem. Within the banking and financial services domain, the certification targets trade finance officers, foreign exchange dealers, treasury staff, trade relationship managers, and anti-money laundering compliance risk officers. The curriculum also caters directly to the corporate and private commercial sectors, providing practical guidance for exporters, importers, supply chain managers, logistics coordinators, entrepreneurs, and cross-border e-commerce sellers seeking to optimize their trade workflows and mitigate international settlement risks. In addition to private sector participants, the course is tailored for public sector regulatory personnel, customs officers, freight forwarding practitioners, and trade policy professionals affiliated with chambers of commerce and economic development bodies. Business graduates, academic researchers, and advanced students specializing in international trade jurisprudence, banking, corporate finance, and global supply chain management can also leverage the platform to bridge academic concepts with real-world financial operations.

The program will be led by lead facilitator Ejaz Ahmed Qadri, a seasoned trade finance authority with over three decades of diversified central and commercial banking experience. Holding a Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Business Management Karachi, a Master of Arts in International Relations from Sindh University, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Karachi, Mr. Qadri previously served as an in-house trainer for the State Bank of Pakistan and the SBP Banking Services Corporation across NIBAF campuses. He currently serves as a Trade Consultant and Chief Facilitator at HabibMetro Bank Limited, having delivered specialized trade courses across more than 16 commercial and foreign banks, 15 multinational corporations, and numerous public sector organizations.

Through the Certified Trade Professional program, NIBAF Pakistan aims to strengthen institutional capabilities across Pakistan’s export and import corridors. By equipping professionals with up-to-date knowledge regarding trade credit instruments, letters of credit, trade-based money laundering deterrence, international commercial terms, and digital trade documentation, the institute continues to support national efforts aimed at streamlining cross-border commerce, lowering transaction costs, and maintaining robust financial system integrity.
