NIBAF Pakistan has announced a specialised one-day training programme on Sustainable Banking and Risk Awareness, aimed at strengthening knowledge and practical understanding of sustainability principles, governance frameworks and risk management within Pakistan’s banking industry. The programme will be held on August 12, 2026, at the NIBAF Pakistan Lahore Campus and is designed for professionals responsible for banking operations, compliance and institutional oversight.
The training reflects the growing importance of sustainable finance and environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations within the financial services sector. As regulatory expectations and stakeholder demands continue to evolve, financial institutions are placing greater emphasis on integrating sustainability practices with enterprise risk management and governance frameworks. The programme aims to help banking professionals better understand these emerging requirements while supporting responsible banking practices.
According to NIBAF Pakistan, the training is intended for a broad range of professionals working across banking operations and governance functions. The target audience includes Branch Managers, Relationship Managers and Operations Managers responsible for customer-facing activities, along with Risk Management Officials, Compliance Officers and Internal Auditors who oversee governance, regulatory compliance and institutional risk management.
The one-day programme will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Lahore Campus, with a training investment of PKR 18,000 plus applicable taxes per participant. The institute has announced August 11, 2026, as the final date for nominations, allowing financial institutions to register employees for the specialised professional development programme.
The training will be facilitated by Syed Muhammad Taqi Shah, Head of Trainings and Partnerships at Kaprix Consulting, who brings more than five decades of experience across the banking, insurance, corporate and education sectors. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions with a strong focus on organisational transformation, governance, compliance, human resource development and institutional performance management.
Mr. Shah served for 36 years in senior leadership positions within the banking industry, including executive roles at Allied Bank. One of his notable assignments included serving as Country Manager Training for the implementation of the T24 core banking system, where he led training and organisational transformation initiatives during the migration from the previous core banking platform. The project contributed to improvements in operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and employee capability across the institution.
Participants are expected to gain practical insights into sustainable banking principles, governance practices and the relationship between risk awareness and long-term institutional resilience. The programme is also expected to cover the role of compliance, internal controls and strategic decision-making in supporting responsible banking operations within an increasingly regulated financial environment.
As sustainability becomes a greater priority for financial institutions globally, banks are increasingly incorporating ESG considerations into lending decisions, operational policies and risk assessment frameworks. Professional training programmes such as this help banking professionals remain informed about evolving regulatory expectations while strengthening institutional governance and long-term business resilience.
NIBAF Pakistan continues to expand its portfolio of professional development initiatives aimed at strengthening technical and leadership capabilities across Pakistan’s financial sector. Through specialised training programmes delivered in collaboration with experienced industry practitioners, the institute supports capacity building in areas including banking technology, risk management, governance, compliance and sustainable finance, helping financial institutions prepare for the changing demands of the modern banking landscape.
