NIBAF Pakistan Announces Specialized Training Program on Risk Quantification and Capital Management

The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan has formally announced an upcoming specialized executive training program centered on advanced risk quantification techniques and strategic capital management. Scheduled to take place on August 21, 2026, at the NIBAF campus in Karachi, the full-day face-to-face workshop is designed to elevate the analytical and governance standards across commercial banks, microfinance banks, development finance institutions, and regulatory agencies. As local and international financial landscapes grow increasingly complex, the program addresses the pressing need for financial organizations to refine their internal risk modeling, align with evolving central bank mandates, and maintain optimal capital buffers.

Operating from nine in the morning until five in the evening, the intensive agenda provides a comprehensive deep dive into the operational methodologies required to identify, measure, and mitigate complex balance sheet exposures. Participants will gain practical insights into modern liquidity management, credit portfolio stress testing, market volatility assessment, and economic capital allocation frameworks. The curriculum emphasizes moving beyond theoretical concepts toward actionable strategies that enable institutions to safeguard their solvency while driving sustainable profitability. Tailored specifically for mid-to-senior level professionals, the course targets risk managers, portfolio specialists, treasury leads, chief financial officers, and regulatory compliance supervisors who oversee institutional stability.

The workshop will be led by Awais Memon, Wing Head of Market and Liquidity Risk Management within the Risk Management Group at the National Bank of Pakistan. Possessing over seventeen years of hands-on experience in corporate treasury, foreign exchange operations, financial modeling, and quantitative risk assessment, Memon brings deep industry expertise to the classroom. His professional track record spans the practical application of Basel II and Basel III regulations, asset-liability management strategies, and advanced software applications in financial engineering. Memon holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from SZABIST and is a certified Junior Associate of The Institute of Bankers Pakistan.

The total financial investment for the day-long session is eighteen thousand rupees per participant, exclusive of applicable government taxes. Corporate organizations, public sector entities, and private banking institutions looking to upskill their human capital must complete registration and submit official candidate nominations no later than August 20, 2026. By facilitating specialized technical training sessions of this caliber, NIBAF continues to play a central role in driving capacity-building initiatives that strengthen the overall resilience, governance, and analytical capabilities of Pakistan’s financial sector.
