NIBAF Pakistan To Hold Strategic AML And CFT Management Training In Karachi

NIBAF Pakistan has announced a one-day executive training program titled “Strategic AML / CFT Management: Governance, Risk & Compliance,” scheduled to take place on September 23, 2026, at its Karachi Campus. The training is designed for senior professionals working across banking, financial services, internal audit, regulatory compliance, and risk management, with a focus on strengthening understanding of strategic Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) management.

The executive training will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will provide participants with a full day of professional learning. The program is aimed particularly at senior management and C-suite executives, officers working in internal audit, and professionals involved in regulatory compliance and risk management. The training investment has been set at PKR 18,000 plus applicable tax per participant.

The session will be facilitated by Ms. Lubna Farooq Malik, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NIBAF Pakistan. With more than 20 years of experience in the banking and financial sector, Ms. Malik has worked extensively in areas including banking regulation, financial stability, deposit insurance, AML/CFT, and policymaking during her career at the State Bank of Pakistan.

Ms. Lubna Farooq Malik has previously served as Director General of the Financial Monitoring Unit and Managing Director of the Deposit Protection Corporation. Since May 2025, she has been serving as CEO of NIBAF Pakistan, where she leads initiatives focused on professional learning and development within the financial sector. Her professional work has included significant contributions to AML/CFT, financial intelligence, banking supervision, and deposit protection.

Her academic background includes a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master of Arts in International Banking and Financial Services from the University of Reading, and a Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi. She has also represented Pakistan at international forums and organizations including the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG), International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI), and the Financial Stability Board.

The training is intended to provide relevant professionals with an executive-level perspective on governance, risk, and compliance in the context of AML and CFT management. Its focus on senior management, internal audit, regulatory compliance, and risk professionals reflects the importance of coordinated oversight and effective compliance practices within financial institutions.
