ABHI Bank reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs1.502 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, marking a substantial improvement in its financial performance and allowing the bank to surpass its entire profit for 2025 within the first half of the current year. The bank had recorded a profit after tax of Rs1.019 billion for the full year ended December 31, 2025, while profit for the corresponding six-month period last year stood at Rs200.2 million.
The latest result represents a significant improvement in profitability, with first-half earnings increasing sharply compared with the same period of 2025. The bank attributed the stronger performance to balance sheet expansion, growth in earning assets, increased deposit mobilisation, improved recoveries and continued attention to risk management and operational discipline. The improvement comes as ABHI Bank expands its lending and deposit base while strengthening its financial position.
ABHI Bank’s total assets crossed the Rs100 billion milestone during the first half of 2026, reaching Rs101.55 billion as of June 30. This represents approximately 32% growth compared with Rs76.80 billion recorded at the end of December 2025. The expansion in assets reflects the bank’s growing scale and increased activity across its balance sheet during the six-month period.
Gross advances also increased significantly, reaching Rs50.07 billion by June 30, 2026, compared with Rs38.16 billion at the end of 2025. The increase indicates continued expansion in the bank’s lending portfolio and contributed to the growth in its earning assets. The higher advances, alongside the overall expansion in the balance sheet, provided additional support for the bank’s revenue generation during the period.
The bank’s funding base also strengthened considerably in the first six months of the year. Deposits increased to Rs86.19 billion as of June 30, 2026, from Rs69.09 billion at the end of December 2025, representing approximately 25% growth. The increase reflects continued deposit mobilisation and an expanding customer franchise, giving the bank a larger funding base to support its lending and other balance sheet activities.
Revenue also recorded strong growth during the first half of 2026. ABHI Bank generated revenue of Rs10.52 billion during the period, compared with Rs5.84 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, representing year-on-year growth of 80.1%. The substantial increase highlights the stronger operating performance recorded during the first six months of the year.
The revenue generated during the first half of 2026 has already reached approximately 74% of the Rs14.25 billion revenue recorded for the entire year of 2025. This indicates that the bank entered the current year with considerable momentum and has continued to expand its revenue base alongside growth in assets, advances and deposits.
Asset quality and credit risk management remained important areas of focus for ABHI Bank during the period. The bank said improved recoveries, together with continued attention to risk management and operational discipline, supported its financial performance. The focus on credit risk is particularly relevant as the bank’s lending portfolio expands and gross advances increase.
The bank’s capital position also improved materially during the first half of 2026. Shareholders’ equity stood at Rs3.11 billion as of June 30, 2026, compared with a negative equity position of Rs397 million at the end of December 2025. The significant improvement in equity was supported by strong profitability during the period as well as the recognition of Rs2 billion as Advance Against Issuance of Shares.
The improvement in shareholders’ equity marks a notable change in the bank’s financial position within six months. The stronger capital base, combined with higher profitability and balance sheet growth, provides additional support for ABHI Bank as it continues to expand its operations and strengthen its financial structure.
The bank has also continued investing in digital and operational capabilities as part of its broader growth strategy. Alongside the expansion of its assets, advances and deposits, these investments are aimed at supporting the bank’s ability to serve a growing customer base and manage its expanding operations.
With total assets exceeding Rs100 billion, deposits reaching Rs86.19 billion, gross advances crossing Rs50 billion and shareholders’ equity moving into positive territory, ABHI Bank enters the second half of 2026 with a considerably stronger financial foundation than at the end of the previous year. The bank’s first-half profit has already exceeded its full-year 2025 earnings, while revenue growth and balance sheet expansion point to continued momentum in its operations.
The performance also reflects the impact of increased earning assets, stronger deposit mobilisation and improved recoveries on the bank’s profitability. As ABHI Bank moves into the second half of 2026, its strengthened capital position, expanding customer franchise and continued focus on risk management and operational capabilities are expected to provide the foundation for its stated objective of sustainable growth.
