ICMA International To Host HR Breakfast Session On Workplace Behaviour And Potential

ICMA International’s Job Placements and Industry Linkages Department is set to host a breakfast session for human resources professionals featuring a panel discussion focused on workplace behaviour, people management and employee potential. Titled “From Difficult to Different: Understanding People, Behaviour and Potential for Workplace Excellence,” the session will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Seminar Hall of ICMA International in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The event is being organised as an opportunity for HR professionals to discuss workplace challenges and explore approaches to improving people management and organisational performance.

The session will examine how understanding individual behaviour and potential can contribute to stronger workplace outcomes. The discussion is expected to focus on the way organisations manage people with different behaviours, capabilities and working styles, while also considering how HR professionals can identify and develop employee potential. The theme places emphasis on moving beyond the perception of workplace challenges as simply difficult situations and instead examining how effective people management can turn differences into opportunities for better organisational performance.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Shams Bhimani, Head of the Job Placements and Industrial Linkages Department at ICMA International. Bhimani will lead the conversation with a panel of HR professionals and industry representatives from different organisations and sectors. The participation of professionals with varied organisational backgrounds is expected to provide attendees with different perspectives on human resource management, workplace behaviour and the development of employees.

The panel includes Ghazal Shafiq, Senior Manager HR at Faysal Funds, who brings professional experience in human resources within the financial services sector. Dr. M. Qamarul Hassan, Founder and CEO of QITD, will also participate in the discussion, adding an organisational and leadership perspective to the conversation. Salman Noor Sheikh, Human Resource Manager at Kutiyana Memon Hospital, will contribute insights from the healthcare sector, while Aneel Arshad Ali, General Manager Human Resource at ZIL Limited, will bring experience from the corporate and industrial environment.

The range of professionals participating in the session is expected to provide HR practitioners with an opportunity to examine workplace behaviour from multiple organisational perspectives. Human resource functions increasingly involve more than recruitment and employee administration, with organisations also focusing on employee engagement, leadership, workplace relationships and the effective use of individual capabilities. Discussions around these areas can help HR professionals consider how people related practices influence organisational performance.

The event also provides an opportunity for HR professionals to strengthen their understanding of workplace behaviour and people management while interacting with other practitioners. Networking is an important part of the session, allowing participants from different organisations and professional backgrounds to exchange experiences and perspectives. The organisers are encouraging HR professionals to use the event as a platform to learn from industry practitioners and build professional connections.

The central theme, “From Difficult to Different,” focuses on understanding people and behaviour rather than approaching workplace differences solely as challenges. The session is expected to explore how HR leaders and managers can better understand employees, identify their potential and create conditions that allow individuals to contribute more effectively. This approach places people management at the centre of efforts to improve workplace effectiveness and organisational results.

The discussion is also expected to address the connection between employee potential and organisational performance. When organisations understand the strengths, behaviours and capabilities of their workforce, HR teams can play a stronger role in aligning people with organisational requirements. The panel will provide a forum for discussing these issues through the experiences of professionals working across financial services, healthcare, corporate and other organisational environments.

The breakfast session is scheduled for September 19 at ICMA International’s Seminar Hall in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, with the programme running from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. HR professionals interested in workplace behaviour, talent development, people management and organisational effectiveness are being invited to participate. Registration is available through the event registration link shared by ICMA International.

By bringing together HR professionals and industry representatives for a focused discussion, ICMA International aims to provide a platform for learning, networking and professional engagement. The session will centre on practical considerations around understanding employees, managing workplace behaviour and recognising human potential, with the broader objective of helping organisations strengthen people management and improve workplace performance.
