NIBAF Pakistan to Conduct GOAML STR/CTR Analysis Workshop in Karachi 

NIBAF Pakistan has announced an intensive one day technical workshop focused on GOAML STR/CTR Analysis and Data Quality Issues for professionals working in Pakistan’s financial sector. The workshop is scheduled to take place on September 29, 2026, at NIBAF Pakistan’s Karachi Campus and will provide participants with focused technical learning related to financial crime compliance and reporting.

The training session will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and has been designed for professionals serving in operational, compliance, risk and monitoring functions within financial institutions. The training investment has been set at PKR 18,000 plus applicable tax per participant. The workshop is intended to provide practical exposure to issues associated with the analysis and reporting of Suspicious Transaction Reports and Currency Transaction Reports through GOAML.

The target audience includes AML/CFT Officers, Compliance and Risk Officers, Branch Operations Managers, STR/CTR Review and Reporting Teams, as well as Internal Audit and Monitoring Staff. By bringing together professionals involved in different stages of compliance and monitoring, the workshop is aimed at addressing practical requirements related to financial crime reporting and data quality.

The session will be facilitated by Muhammad Mazahir Barristor, CAMS, who currently serves as Unit Head of Transaction Monitoring at Habib Metropolitan Bank Ltd. His professional experience includes work in financial crime compliance, transaction monitoring and investigations, with previous experience at Standard Chartered and Bank AL Habib.

Mazahir has more than a decade of experience across leading financial institutions and has worked extensively on practical aspects of AML/CFT compliance. His areas of expertise include transaction monitoring, STR and SAR investigations, enhanced due diligence involving high risk entities such as politically exposed persons, NGOs and exchange companies, as well as sanctions screening and correspondent banking activities involving Vostro and Nostro accounts.

His experience also includes working with financial crime compliance systems such as Oracle Mantas and SafeWatch. Through his frontline experience, the facilitator brings practical knowledge of identifying potential red flags, reviewing transactions and handling financial crime related cases within banking environments.

The workshop’s focus on GOAML STR/CTR analysis and data quality issues is particularly relevant for professionals responsible for reviewing, preparing and reporting transaction information. Accurate and complete data plays an important role in compliance reporting, while effective analysis supports financial institutions in identifying and responding to potential financial crime risks.
