NIBAF Pakistan has completed the first week of its flagship Islamic Finance Professionals Program (IFPP-6), a specialized capacity-building initiative being conducted for officials of the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC) at its Islamabad Campus.
The two-week programme is being held from September 7 to September 18, 2026, and is designed to provide participants with comprehensive technical knowledge of Islamic finance and Shariah-compliant banking operations. The programme covers areas including Shariah governance, Islamic modes of financing, capital markets and specialized risk management, with expert-led sessions forming the core of the training.
The first module, Fundamentals of Islamic Banking, was conducted on September 7 and 8, with Mufti Muhammad Najeeb Khan serving as the facilitator. The module focused on establishing a technical foundation for participants by introducing key concepts and principles associated with Islamic banking and finance.
The second module, DM, Musharaka & Mudaraba, was held on September 9 and facilitated by Mufti Umar Amaduddin. The session addressed important Islamic financing structures and their application within the broader framework of Islamic financial operations. Musharaka and Mudaraba are among the key modes of Islamic financing, making their technical understanding important for professionals working in the sector.
The third module, Sukuk & Risk Management, took place on September 10 and 11 under the facilitation of Qazi Abdul Samad. The module brought together discussions on Sukuk and risk management, covering two areas that are important to the functioning and development of Islamic financial markets.
The Week 1 programme provided SBP-BSC officials with exposure to several core areas of Islamic finance through structured technical sessions led by specialists in the respective fields. The format reflects the programme’s focus on developing practical and technical understanding rather than limiting participants to introductory concepts.
IFPP-6 is being conducted at NIBAF Pakistan’s Islamabad Campus and will continue through September 18. The second week will build on the foundation established during the first week as participants continue their specialized training in areas connected with Shariah-compliant central banking operations and Islamic financial practices.
NIBAF Pakistan continues to support professional development and institutional capacity-building across the financial sector through specialized training programmes. The IFPP-6 initiative is aimed at strengthening the technical capabilities of SBP-BSC officials and supporting greater expertise in Islamic finance, Shariah governance, financing structures, capital markets and risk management.
The programme also reflects the importance of continuous professional development for officials involved in financial and central banking operations. As Islamic finance continues to require specialized regulatory, operational and risk-management expertise, structured programmes such as IFPP-6 provide participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the technical frameworks governing Shariah-compliant financial activities.
