Pakistani digital financial services platform JazzCash has secured a spot in the CNBC and Statista World Top Fintech Companies 2026 global ranking. The subsidiary of VEON Ltd represents the first and only domestic fintech company from Pakistan to gain inclusion in the prestigious annual list, securing its position within the payments category. Compiled jointly by international news network CNBC and market research provider Statista, the global registry evaluates thousands of eligible financial technology firms based on operational performance, growth metrics, market reach, and category-specific key indicators.
The inclusion places JazzCash alongside international technology platforms, highlighting the expansion of Pakistan domestic digital financial infrastructure on global stages. The platform currently caters to a user base exceeding 60 million registered customers nationwide. Over the twelve-month period ending March 2026, the digital wallet provider processed PKR 16.8 trillion, equivalent to approximately USD 59.7 billion, in gross transaction value, reflecting widespread adoption of digital payment channels across urban and rural consumer segments.
A central driver of the market footprint of the platform is its extensive merchant network, which includes more than 1.7 million Raast-enabled quick response acceptance points distributed throughout the country. By integrating with the national Raast instant payment system, the digital financial platform has broadened merchant acquiring services, allowing micro, small, and medium enterprises to accept digital payments without investing in traditional point-of-sale hardware. This interoperable merchant ecosystem has facilitated access to formal financial services for previously unbanked communities and independent traders.
Beyond digital payment processing and merchant acquiring, the digital financial operator has expanded its credit operations through micro-lending services. The platform currently disburses an average of over 200,000 instant digital loans daily, providing short-term liquidity to consumers and small business owners who lack traditional credit histories. The overall portfolio of the company encompasses digital transfers, consumer credit, micro-insurance products, domestic and international remittances, mobile savings accounts, and government-to-person welfare disbursements.
Executive leadership at the digital platform noted that international recognition from media and analytical bodies validates the ongoing structural shift toward a cashless national economy. The company announced plans to maintain capital investment across product development, API integration, and digital infrastructure to deepen financial inclusion, expand female participation in digital finance, and support the broader evolution of the technology sector in Pakistan.
