The National Institute of Banking and Finance Pakistan is set to conduct a two day interactive online training workshop focused on prompt engineering and practical generative artificial intelligence applications for banking professionals. Titled “Prompt Engineering Mastery: Practical Generative AI for Banking Professionals,” the workshop is scheduled for August 20 and August 21, 2026, and will be delivered through virtual sessions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days. The programme is designed to provide banking professionals with practical exposure to generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering techniques relevant to their professional responsibilities.
The workshop will focus on prompt engineering, a technology skill that has become increasingly important with the wider use of generative artificial intelligence tools. Prompt engineering involves developing structured instructions that help AI systems produce more useful and relevant outputs. For banking professionals, knowledge of effective prompting can support a range of technology enabled tasks, including information processing, drafting, analysis and other workplace activities. The workshop’s banking specific focus is intended to connect these capabilities with the practical requirements of professionals working within financial institutions.
NIBAF Pakistan has scheduled the programme as a fully online training session, allowing participants to attend without travelling to a physical training facility. The virtual format will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during both workshop days. The training investment has been set at PKR 24,000 plus applicable tax per person. Interested participants have been given August 18, 2026 as the deadline for submitting nominations, giving banking institutions and professionals a defined period to register for the programme.
The workshop will be facilitated by Mr. Irfan Bakaly, a technology trainer with more than two decades of experience in the training field. According to NIBAF Pakistan, Bakaly received Pakistan’s first Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award in the Excel category. His professional experience includes training assignments for various institutions and organizations, giving him a long background in delivering technology related learning programmes.
Bakaly also operates a tutorial channel under the name “Irfan Wazir Ali,” which has more than 525 videos. His work through the channel focuses on technology tutorials and educational content, providing an additional platform through which professionals and learners can access practical technology related guidance. His experience in technology training and educational content forms part of the facilitator profile for the upcoming NIBAF Pakistan workshop.
