PSW Introduces Remote Biometric Verification Through NADRA PakID App

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has integrated its platform with the National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) PakID Mobile App, allowing users to complete mandatory biometric verification remotely through their smartphones. The new facility applies to PSW subscription, renewal and profile update processes, providing users with a digital alternative to the physical biometric verification process that was previously required. The integration is aimed at making access to PSW services more convenient for businesses and individuals involved in Pakistan’s international trade while reducing the need for in-person visits to NADRA e-Sahulat Centres.

Under the new arrangement, PSW users can carry out their biometric verification through the PakID Mobile App, subject to the applicable verification requirements of NADRA. The development removes the physical step that previously required users to visit an e-Sahulat Centre to fulfil the biometric requirement associated with PSW services. By shifting this part of the process to a mobile-based platform, PSW is expanding the digital components of its onboarding and account management procedures and giving users another option for completing an essential verification requirement.

The facility is expected to be particularly useful for overseas Pakistanis who use PSW for trade-related activities in Pakistan. Previously, users based outside the country could face practical difficulties when required to arrange a physical visit to a NADRA e-Sahulat Centre for biometric verification. With the introduction of remote verification through the PakID Mobile App, eligible overseas users can complete the required process from their smartphones, reducing the need for physical travel and making it easier to access PSW-related services while remaining outside Pakistan. The facility also provides greater flexibility for other users who may find an in-person verification visit difficult to arrange.

PSW has also decided to keep both biometric verification channels available during an interim period to support a smooth transition. Users will therefore be able to choose between completing the verification digitally through the NADRA PakID Mobile App or continuing to visit NADRA e-Sahulat Centres. The temporary availability of both options is intended to ensure uninterrupted facilitation for the business community while users become familiar with the new digital verification process. It also provides an alternative for users who may not immediately be able to complete verification through the mobile application or who remain subject to specific NADRA verification requirements.

Syed Aftab Haider, CEO of PSW, said the integration was part of the organisation’s response to the requirements of its user community in Pakistan and overseas. He said the connection with NADRA’s PakID Mobile App reflected PSW’s effort to listen to users and address their needs by reducing physical steps in the onboarding process. According to Haider, remote biometric verification removes another physical trip from the process and provides users with a more convenient and accessible way to complete PSW onboarding requirements.

The integration also marks a further move by PSW towards fully digital onboarding. According to the organisation, biometric verification through the PakID Mobile App eliminates the only physical visit that was previously required for PSW subscription, allowing the subscription process to be completed digitally. This represents a change in the way users can access and complete the initial verification requirements associated with the platform, while the availability of the existing e-Sahulat option ensures that the transition does not disrupt users who continue to rely on physical verification.

PSW has been expanding its use of digital solutions to simplify processes connected with Pakistan’s international trade ecosystem. The integration with NADRA’s digital identity infrastructure adds a remote identity verification facility to the platform and addresses a practical requirement for users who need to complete biometric verification as part of their interaction with PSW. For overseas Pakistanis in particular, the ability to complete this requirement remotely can reduce logistical difficulties associated with physical verification and provide easier access to trade-related digital services.

The new facility links PSW’s trade facilitation platform with NADRA’s existing digital identity infrastructure, allowing biometric verification to become part of a more digitally managed user journey. While the interim availability of e-Sahulat Centres will continue to provide a physical option, the introduction of mobile-based verification gives users greater flexibility in completing PSW requirements. The development reflects PSW’s broader efforts to streamline its services and make digital access more practical for businesses and individuals participating in Pakistan’s international trade activities.
