The National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) Pakistan conducted a one-day online training program on “Oracle ERP – HRIS & Payroll” for officers of the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC) on March 5, 2026. The session was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll functionalities within the Oracle ERP environment, providing practical guidance for efficient HR and payroll management in banking operations.

Around 25 officers participated in the training, gaining hands-on insights into the integration of HR processes with payroll systems, automation of routine tasks, and effective management of employee data through Oracle ERP modules. The program emphasized operational efficiency, accuracy in payroll processing, and alignment of HR processes with organizational objectives, particularly within the structured environment of a central banking institution.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Maha Khursheed and Mr. Safeer Rizvi, who provided detailed explanations of Oracle ERP features and shared practical approaches to leverage HRIS modules for improved personnel management. Participants explored system functionalities such as employee records management, leave and attendance tracking, payroll calculation, benefits administration, and report generation, which are critical for modern financial organizations.

Ms. Khursheed highlighted best practices for using ERP systems to streamline HR and payroll workflows, demonstrating how automation reduces manual errors and enhances compliance with regulatory and organizational policies. Mr. Rizvi complemented the session by addressing system configuration, real-time data analysis, and reporting tools available within Oracle ERP, enabling participants to gain actionable insights from HR data.

Interactive exercises allowed participants to apply their learning to real-life scenarios, including managing complex payroll structures, generating statutory reports, and ensuring accurate employee record maintenance. These exercises reinforced the practical application of ERP modules and enhanced participants’ confidence in using the system efficiently for operational tasks. The training also focused on data security, privacy, and integrity, ensuring participants understood the importance of safeguarding sensitive HR and payroll information within digital systems. Emphasis was placed on adhering to compliance standards while optimizing HR processes through automation and data-driven decision-making. By integrating theoretical instruction with practical demonstrations, the session provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of Oracle ERP’s HRIS and payroll capabilities. Officers left the program equipped to implement system functionalities effectively, reduce operational inefficiencies, and contribute to improved organizational performance.
