Zindigi, the digital banking platform powered by JS Bank, has partnered with Orient Electronics Pvt. Ltd to launch a transformative Digital Supply Chain Financing (DSCF) initiative aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Pakistan. This collaboration, formalized through a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will provide suppliers and distributors in Orient Electronics’ value chain with structured, cost-efficient financing that is easy to access and aligned with modern risk management practices.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior leadership from both organizations, including Sania Batool Shah, Head of Digital Lending at Zindigi, and Ahmad Fazal, Managing Director of Orient Electronics, along with Zaeem Ahmad, Director, and Ahsan Bashir, CFO. The event marked a significant step toward leveraging digital technologies to advance financial inclusion for SMEs, which remain underserved despite their vital role in Pakistan’s economy.
Through this initiative, Orient Electronics will act as the anchor company, leveraging Zindigi’s robust digital infrastructure to facilitate seamless, technology-enabled financing across its network of suppliers and distributors. Eligible vendors will be able to access funding subject to SME credit clearance, ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework set by the State Bank of Pakistan for value chain finance. This structured approach addresses traditional challenges SMEs face in accessing formal finance while promoting transparency and efficiency in transactions.
The partnership comes at a crucial time, as SMEs constitute the backbone of Pakistan’s economic activity and a major source of employment. Despite their significance, many small enterprises have historically struggled to secure reliable financing from formal channels. By introducing a digital solution, Zindigi and Orient Electronics aim to bridge this gap, enabling SMEs to scale operations, manage cash flow effectively, and drive innovation within their respective sectors.
Imtiaz Khalid, Country Head SME at JS Bank, emphasized the strategic importance of this collaboration, stating, “SMEs are a vital part of Pakistan’s economy and a major source of employment. At Zindigi, we greatly value this partnership with Orient Electronics, as it marks an important step toward delivering structured and affordable digital supply chain financing, empowering SMEs to grow and contribute more effectively to the economy.”
The DSCF platform integrates modern digital lending capabilities with regulatory compliance, offering a transparent, user-friendly experience for SMEs. By reducing dependency on informal credit sources and streamlining financing procedures, the initiative is poised to strengthen Pakistan’s SME ecosystem while driving broader economic growth.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision of promoting digital transformation and financial inclusion, enabling SMEs to thrive in a modern, technology-driven marketplace. As Zindigi and Orient Electronics continue to expand the reach of this initiative, SMEs across Pakistan stand to gain access to affordable financing solutions that empower them to innovate, scale, and contribute meaningfully to the national economy.
