Jubilee Life Insurance has partnered with Unikrew Solutions to implement a digital insurance onboarding solution compliant with the Multi-Biometric Verification System (MBVS), introducing biometric-based identity verification into the insurer’s remote customer onboarding process. The collaboration is aimed at strengthening digital identity checks while reducing dependence on manual verification during the insurance application journey.
Under the partnership, Jubilee Life will use a solution designed around the compliance requirements of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) MBVS framework. The system incorporates camera-based fingerprint acquisition alongside facial biometric verification, allowing customer identities to be verified remotely. The approach is intended to provide an additional layer of identity assurance for customers accessing insurance services through digital channels.
The initiative reflects the increasing use of digital identity infrastructure across Pakistan’s financial services industry. As insurance providers expand digital channels, remote identity verification has become an important component of customer onboarding. Biometric systems can help insurers verify customers without requiring every step of the onboarding process to take place through traditional in-person channels.
For Jubilee Life Insurance, the partnership forms part of its wider digital transformation programme. The company said the implementation is focused on improving customer accessibility and service delivery while supporting operational efficiency. By incorporating biometric verification into remote onboarding, the insurer is seeking to provide customers with a digital process that combines identity checks with online access to insurance services.
Javed Ahmed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jubilee Life Insurance, said digital transformation is changing how customers access and experience financial services, including insurance. He said the collaboration with Unikrew Solutions would strengthen the digital onboarding process through secure and compliant biometric verification while making the process more accessible to customers.
Ahmed said Jubilee Life remains focused on using technology and digitisation to build trust, improve convenience and provide a more connected customer experience. His comments underline the insurer’s focus on integrating digital tools into customer-facing processes as insurance services increasingly move towards remote and technology-enabled interactions.
Muhammad Naveed Sharif, Chief Executive Officer of Unikrew Solutions, said the company was pleased to collaborate with Jubilee Life Insurance on MBVS-compliant digital insurance onboarding. According to Sharif, the partnership is intended to support secure and streamlined customer onboarding while contributing to digital trust and regulatory compliance within Pakistan’s insurance sector.
The adoption of biometric identity verification also has implications for compliance and fraud prevention within digital financial services. Remote onboarding can create challenges around confirming that an applicant is the legitimate holder of an identity document. Combining fingerprint and facial verification provides insurers with additional mechanisms for establishing customer identity before completing the onboarding process.
The partnership comes as Pakistan’s financial services sector continues to adopt digital identity and biometric technologies across banking, payments and insurance. The use of NADRA-aligned verification systems can allow financial institutions to build remote service channels while maintaining identity verification requirements. For insurers, such systems can support the development of digital customer journeys without removing the identity checks required during account or policy onboarding.
Jubilee Life and Unikrew’s initiative therefore adds biometric verification to the expanding range of digital technologies being adopted by Pakistan’s insurance industry. The implementation of camera-based fingerprint acquisition and facial verification is expected to support remote identity checks, while the MBVS-compliant framework provides a structure for digital onboarding aligned with applicable verification requirements.
