NIBAF Pakistan Conducts DEI Training to Foster Inclusive Workplace Culture

The National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) Pakistan recently hosted a comprehensive two-day training program on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for stakeholders of the State Bank of Pakistan Banking Services Corporation (SBP-BSC). The sessions, held from November 27–28, 2025, at NIBAF’s Islamabad campus, focused on fostering inclusive mindsets, promoting equitable practices in the workplace, and enhancing organizational culture across the financial sector.

The program was conducted in a face-to-face (F2F) format under the guidance of Mr. Sohail M. Ali, a renowned DEI trainer with extensive experience in organizational development. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, hands-on exercises, and scenario-based learning to understand the principles and practical implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion in professional settings.

Throughout the two-day sessions, participants explored topics such as recognizing unconscious bias, promoting fair and equitable policies, supporting underrepresented groups, and creating an environment that encourages collaboration and belonging. The training emphasized that fostering DEI is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic driver for organizational success, enhancing employee engagement, innovation, and productivity.

Key discussions also centered on establishing frameworks to assess workplace inclusivity, measuring outcomes of DEI initiatives, and embedding inclusive practices into organizational processes. Participants were encouraged to act as change champions within their teams, promoting equitable decision-making, accessible communication, and culturally sensitive approaches to leadership and collaboration.

NIBAF Pakistan highlighted that the DEI training aligns with broader initiatives by the SBP to cultivate progressive and inclusive workplace cultures across the banking and finance sector. By equipping participants with knowledge, practical tools, and strategies, the program aims to ensure sustainable implementation of DEI principles that reflect both global best practices and local organizational contexts.

Feedback from attendees reflected high engagement and appreciation for the practical focus of the sessions. Many participants noted that the program offered actionable strategies that could be immediately applied within their teams and departments. The interactive format, combined with expert insights, was praised for enhancing understanding and encouraging meaningful dialogue on often overlooked organizational challenges related to diversity and equity.

Overall, the training underscored the importance of embedding DEI as a core organizational value. NIBAF Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to continuous professional development initiatives that support capacity building, foster inclusive mindsets, and contribute to the creation of more equitable workplaces in Pakistan’s financial sector.
