NIBAF Pakistan Holds Islamic Banking Certificate Course Module III in Lahore

NIBAF Pakistan has successfully conducted Module III of its Islamic Banking Certificate Course (IBCC-81) at its Lahore Campus, providing commercial bank officers with specialized training in Islamic finance and banking practices. The six-day module was held from September 14 to 19, 2026, and focused on areas relevant to professionals working in commercial banking, including Islamic financing contracts, product structures, regulatory compliance and risk management.

The training programme was designed to strengthen the technical understanding of commercial banking professionals and provide them with practical knowledge of Islamic banking products and financing arrangements. As Islamic banking continues to form an important part of Pakistan’s financial sector, specialized training can help banking professionals understand the structures, operational requirements and compliance considerations associated with Shariah-compliant financial services. Module III of IBCC-81 brought together these areas in an intensive learning programme at NIBAF Pakistan’s Lahore Campus.

The course featured multiple facilitators across the six-day programme, with each instructor covering different parts of the module. Mufti Rafay Ashraf Usmani facilitated the first day, followed by Usama Ehsan on the second and third days. Dr. Mufti Sabir Hussain conducted the fourth day, while Syed Qutub ud Din Haider facilitated the fifth day. The programme structure allowed participants to benefit from different areas of expertise throughout the training sessions.

The module covered complex Islamic financing contracts and the mechanics of Islamic banking products, giving participants an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how such arrangements operate within the banking environment. Regulatory compliance was another key component of the programme, helping professionals connect Islamic financing structures with the requirements applicable to banking operations. Risk management was also included among the core areas, highlighting the importance of identifying and managing risks associated with financial products and banking activities.

The participation of commercial bank officers reflects the focus of the programme on professionals directly involved in the banking sector. Training programmes of this nature are intended to build specialized capabilities among financial sector employees and support the development of expertise in Islamic banking. By bringing together technical concepts, product knowledge, compliance requirements and risk considerations, IBCC-81 provides participants with knowledge that can be applied within their professional responsibilities.

NIBAF Pakistan continues to conduct specialized learning and capacity-building programmes for professionals in the financial sector. The completion of Module III of IBCC-81 at the Lahore Campus forms part of its efforts to develop banking expertise and support professional development in Islamic finance. Through such programmes, NIBAF Pakistan aims to strengthen the knowledge base of banking professionals and contribute to higher levels of expertise and operational understanding within Pakistan’s Islamic banking sector.
